Dartmouth College and Occupational Health & Safety Administration are offering a seminar on Fall Protection on July 10th, 2007. Deaths from falls remain one of the leading causes of workplace fatalities. Protecting workers from falls can be challenging, requiring awareness, engineering, the proper equipment, and employee participation. It is in everyone's best interest to establish and maintain a comprehensive fall protection program. Attending this program is an economical way of obtaining information and training which can assist you in further development of your fall protection program. Paul Leitner will follow Dave Berard's presentation with a demonstration. Paul covers donning a harness, the dynamics of a fall, the effects of a body harness on the human body when used for fall arrest, the pitfalls of incorrectly using a harness as well as how to select a harness. There will also be an array of fall protection products available for you to look at. Many new products which aid in providing fall protection are on the market today.
We strongly encourage all members of the NHC3UA to attend this free training seminar. Safety representatives, project managers, and supervisors are asked to come and represent their respective schools. Your participation is very important to us.
